We are off for 3 more nights at a golf resort north of Lisbon. Because we have work to catch up on, and we need to hit some golf balls.
As my golf has been so bad, we decide to just hit balls and putt for a couple of days and have one day of golf only. Also the pool is magnificent and the gym too. After we arrive we head to them. Bill chooses to weigh himself after his gym. So I do too after my swim. I am shocked! I am plus 7.5kg of what I thought I was. That is the heaviest I have ever been. It has just crept up and I do eat what I like.
The next day I am on one of my zoom calls. I share my horror at my weight. A guy says the way he lost weight was to imagine sending a projectile into the universe, with the label 'shedding weight' on it. He liked it as he didn't know how he was going to do this and the projectile was in motion. This is different to setting a goal which you is not really part of the journey he said. So I will try this.
He also said the next week he got the flu, and he lost 5kg! We are biking in a week. Maybe that will shed a few kilos.😘. After two leisurely days making the most of the facilities we head to nearby Obidos for a visit.
"Óbidos is famous for its medieval castle, well-preserved town walls, literary heritage, and ginjinha liqueur served in chocolate cups. It's also famous for events like the Medieval Festival and International Chocolate Festival." We didn't go to either.

Bill was on his way out very quickly.
You could go up on the castle wall. It was not that safe. Bill was worried for me. And he chose not to come with me.

Bill found a restaurant called Book and Cook which he liked the look of, for obvious reasons.
This is just up the road from where we are.
We went to Peniche one night. We were looking for somewhere to eat (one of the few times Bill didn't book). After there were a few places closed he decided he would book every night. He books restaurants. I go up and pay at the end. I think that is a good arrangement. The restaurant we went to is in the street in the distance.
Then we went to Baleal beach on the way home. The sun was just setting as we got to the beach.
And then suddenly it fogged over in 5 minutes.
Next day after hitting balls and swimming and going to the gym for two days we played our one game of golf.
We played with two local guys. One of them, Carlos, said he had bought a place opposite the hotel in Covid and now it is worth 3 times as much. He lives with his family 3 hours away and comes down to play golf when he can. I did not ask him how much he bought it for? I looked online. Maybe it is worth 450,000 Euros now. So he bought it for 150,000 Euros. Good idea to have bought it and could have bought a few 😘 .
My turn today to play well;. Bill was not good. Maybe collaging works.
Two days after the shock of my weight - and lots of walking, and cutting out bread and dessert, I weighed myself again. 1kg lighter. Phew, it is possible to shed weight.
